LAW INTERNSHIP & SHADOWING LONDON

All internships, including the Law Shadowing Internship, are fully operational and running on all listed dates. We are currently accepting and placing students into London law firms for their preferred internship periods. Early application is strongly recommended.

Students wishing to enrol in the Law Internship and Shadowing Programme may do so with complete confidence. All fees and payments are fully protected and guaranteed.

Please note that we are no longer accepting students for Online or virtual Law Internships. All placements will be entirely face-to-face at partner law firms or chambers in London.

All internees are expected to commit to the law firm from 9:00–17:00, Monday to Friday. Outside these hours—and on weekends—you are free to enjoy London and socialise.

Lite Regal is able to place Law Internees into their preferred legal specialisms. Students are encouraged to select the areas of law they wish to experience, both in preparation for and beyond university. The most common areas requested include:

  5. Contract Law

Before applying, please ensure that you meet all entry requirements listed below.

After payment, all Law Internees will be requested to submit the following documents so that we can tailor your internship and match you with the most suitable law firm. (We will provide redacted sample CVs and Statements of Purpose from previous students to guide you.)

All students will also be invited to a Zoom or Skype meeting to personalise your experience and address any questions you may have. We pride ourselves on offering the best possible Law Internship and Shadowing Experience.

LAW INTERNSHIP & SHADOWING OVERVIEW

This law internship and shadowing program is for a 1 week / 2 week /  3 week or 4 week period only and for the dates as shown. The law shadowing/internship program is open to all nationalities. It is an engaging program and students will learn to think like lawyers and enjoy themselves.

Law shadowing and internship is vital and necessary for any applicant who is already studying law or who is thinking of working in the law arena.

The law Internship and shadowing course is available in London (Central London) and residential students will stay in the Garden Halls UOL University of London or Goodenough College (an intercollegiate University Accommodation) Student Campus for their period of Shadowing. Interns will be placed in single ensuite rooms which are spacious and bright. The accommodation is centrally located in zone 1 of central London in Bloomsbury – the nearest tube station is Russell Square or Holborn and is moments away from all London has to offer (Oxford Street and Harrods is all within walking distance).

The advantages of Law Internship and Shadowing programme are  numerous. Students who decide to go on this programme will have an educational and cultural experience of a lifetime. It allows to students to gain independence and make friends from all over the world, have fun and allow students live and Intern / shadow within a Law firm in one of the best most vibrant cities in the world – London. Students will intern and shadow with a real working lawyer / barrister and learn from them. The internship hours are 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and outside of this students have free time to meet friends and explore the city.

WHO IS THE LAW INTERNSHIP SUITABLE FOR

WHERE ARE THE LAW INTERNSHIPS

Internships are only London based! Due to the convenience and students demands the shadowing program is based in London.

The internships  and shadowing programmes will normally be in one of the following:

PRICE OF THE LAW INTERNSHIP

The Law Internship / Law Shadowing Programme is suitable for all who are considering and interested in gaining valuable experience and an insight into how professional lawyers work. It is in essence a mini-pupillage.

The student is expected to :

Research and prepare casework that the particular lawyer is handling
Handling all paperwork and legal documents
Build legal skills
Dealing with all emails and legal paperwork – filing and general admin
Helping the lawyer in all areas that he/she needs help in building a case
Attend client meeting and attend court as needed
See how the departments in a law firm work together

It is useful for all students aged 17+ who are interested in Shadowing / Interning in a London Law Company and getting important law experience. All those seeking to get short working experience in a London Law Firm are encouraged to apply.

The Internship program can be taken on its own or as part of a Law Preparation Course. The price of the Internship program alone – not taken in conjunction with any law course is as follows:

INCLUDED IN THE LAW INTERNSHIP

LITE Regal will provide and sort out all the paper work between the student and Lawyer. LITE Regal will find and source the Lawyer for the student to intern with, all necessary Visa if required and all internship paperwork will be provided by LITE Regal Education.

Included in the price:

Accommodation on the University of London campus. We normally use UCL - Garden Halls or one of the other intercollegiate University of London Halls of Residence. All accommodation is in central London (Bloomsbury area) and commuting between the place of internship and accommodation is close. Note: Food and Transportation Costs is not included in the course

Supervision of students.

En-suite single room within one of the University of London student accommodation. If you are enrolling with a friend or prefer to stay with someone we can provide en-suite twin room.

Internship in a London and all the paper work needed.

Welcome briefing and introduction to gain orientation.

We will assign a student mentor to support you during your volunteer placement.

Please note that pick up and drop off from the airport is not included in the price, however this can be arranged for the student if required.

LAW INTERNSHIP DATES 2024/2025

Law Internship dates can be found on the left top side of this page. Law Internships are available throughout the whole year. Students can choose from 1 week up to 4 weeks of Law Internship.

WHAT WILL STUDENTS GET AFTER THE LAW INTERNSHIP

All students will get a Full Certificate of Attendance from LITE Regal Education and also a certificate and letter from the Lawyer the student was shadowing that will state all the areas that they covered and learned.

Students will in essence receive a Letter of Recommendation from the Lawyer outlining what the student covered during the internship program that the student will find useful in the future.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR LAW INTERNSHIP

Must be 17 or over as of 26 Aug 2025.
All nationalities with a good level of English. For all Non-EU nationals, our placement team will help students obtain the necessary Visa and UK entry clearance papers necessary to attend the internship.
Students must be highly motivated and be thinking seriously of applying to Law internships.
Students must command a good level of English: minimum– IELTS 5-6, TOEFL iBT 35-59, TOEIC 526-750, Cambridge FCE. If you are studying in a UK School or International School abroad taught in English the need for proof of English Level can be negated. If you are unsure of your English level please contact us. If you are from the UK or study in an International School or University and have classes in English you will be deemed to have an acceptable level of English to Intern and will exempt from any proof of the level of English.
Students will have a Skype or Zoom interview after payment has been made (deposit 15% or full fees ) with one of our Admissions team to ensure that the student is placed in the best law firm and relevant law field.

CLOSING DATES

The Law Internships and Shadowing Programmes are extremely popular and oversubscribed – early application is highly advisable!

Please apply as soon as you are sure this is the internship program for you. Although there is no deadline for application – (students are served on a 1st come first served order) – we recommend an application with payment in full to received by us at least 8 weeks before the course starts in order to allow us enough time to process all the paperwork required.

WHAT CAN STUDENTS EXPECT

It is important to manage your expectations during this Law Placement experience. The depth and type of experience will depend upon the Lawyer that the student will shadow during their placement.

Due to Health and Safety in the UK, students on placements should expect the following when they make an application:

Placements cannot be for more than 4 weeks. If you would like to commit to an internship for more than 4 weeks please write to us stating the periods you would like to intern for.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: FAQS

The Law Internship program can be taken for period of 1 week or 2 weeks or 3 weeks or 4 weeks maximum. Longer periods of Law Internships / Shadowing programs can be organised by arrangement. Please email us for your intended dates.

Law placements take place from Monday to Friday leaving the weekends Free. The placements start in the morning until afternoon,9am to 5pm and  students are free in the evening and weekends to explore London and the UK as they wish. Students typically have 30-40 hour experience per week in the placement.

Yes you can be assured that you will have the educational experience of a lifetime and mix and meet students of your own age from all over the world.

No. All placements are unpaid and strictly on a voluntary basis.

The University Hall is mixed but you will be placed in a single en-suite room. If you request a twin shared room you will be placed with a companion of a similar age and same sex in en-suite twin room.

Meals and transportation costs are not included in the internship course program fee. These expenses are the responsibility of each intern and should be budgeted for separately when planning for your internship experience.
